Eating is a Challenge

Cayden is now onto eating solid foods (I solid in a loose term though). At times he is a clean eater and only gets food on small parts of his face, but lately his newest thing is to take a bite and then make a spitting sounds with his mouth. All the while he enjoys shoving his hands in his mouth as you are feeding him. Makes for great pictures.

He is also trying to crawl, but has only figured out how to scoot backwards.

Summer Time

Many of you know that Eric has become the stay at home parent (got to love being a teacher in the summer) and therefore has lots of time to take pictures. Here are a few. Enjoy.

Some first experiences for Cayden.

Cayden has had a busy month.  He went swimming for the first time.  He held a beer for the first time. Met his crazy ass uncle Ben and played with his soccer ball.  He became a New York Mets fan before he was four months old and stayed at the beach house in Seaside. Apparently he likes iPods too.  Enjoy.

Sorry for the long delay, but I wanted to wait until I took some newer pictures of Cayden.  Sleeping pictures can only be viewed so many times.  He is starting to smile a lot and Kari thinks he is getting teeth, but who really knows.  He is starting to get some chubby cheeks which make his smiles look even better.

2 Months Old!

Hard to believe, but Cayden is two months old.  He had his first round of immunization shots on Tuesday and was a champ.  He became super pissed off at the time the needles were given, but then shortly later was okay and actually fell asleep in the doctor's office.  Slept basically the entire day.

I have included a few pictures from the previous weeks and even a video of Cayden grandfather trying to wake him up.  Mildly amusing.

St Patrick's Day

Cayden has celebrated his first St. Patty's Day and needless to say is was rather mild compared to some of his parents past escapades on this fine holiday.  Cayden is doing well and has his good nights and loud nights.

One Month Old!

The adventures of Cayden continue.  He has been trying new things, but I still think he enjoys to sleep the most (just not at night and never on his back).  He entered his first bar the other day (he can thank his grandma for that one...) sorry Nate and Ben, but my own mother took him to his first bar.  I enclosed a video of him on his "activities mat" (the damn names they give baby toys) and as you can see he was not a happy camper.  Apparently he is getting darker as the days go by.  I didn't notice it too much, but compared to his cousin MacKenzie it is apparently true.

The Adventures of a 3 Week Old!

Cayden is as of Monday (2/23) a whopping three weeks old.  He is doing well and at his two week appointment weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces.  Essentially he is eating well. The slogan thrown around the house is that he is a bit of a pig, which at this stage is a good thing.  Some of his new adventures besides sleeping and eating are bath time.  I have included a few pictures of that event.  Since these pictures he has had two more baths and the third he seemed to actually enjoy it.  He only cried at the end during the period of being taken from the tub to the towel.

One Week Old!!!

Cayden is officially a week old and has mastered a few skills.  Sleeping and disposing of what he eats.  Due to the later skill I have gained a new skill as well that is sure to keep Huggies and Pampers in business for at least a few more years.

Kari is doing well adjusting to the lack of sleep, by sleeping when Cayden does.  He has been nothing but pure entertainment this past week.

Cayden Meets His Extended Family

Here are a few pictures of Cayden meeting his extended family (related and not related).  I think his Auntie Wendi was surprised that her brother could produce a child so damn cute.  His cousin MacKenzie was very excited to meet him, but his other cousin Bella was a bit ho-hum with him at this point.

Laurie was very happy while meeting Cayden (Travis... I see a wee one in your near future). She came in rubbing her hands together in anticipation. Very amusing.  The Skippers stopped by as well to take a peek and Geoff was nice enough to bring me some refreshments.

I did find out that Cayden likes to be bounced on the exercise ball (Thanks Fraser for that tip) and actually falls asleep. Thanks again for all the support from family and friends.  Particularly the grandparents (both sides) for all the coffees and grocery shopping.  It is very much appreciated.

The Kid has sideburns already

Yes, you read that correctly.... the wee one has sideburns.  He is a bit hairy on the head, but other than that like any other newborn.  Here are some updated pictures.  Thanks to everyone for the texts and Facebook posts.  They are very appreciated.

Cayden has arrived!!!

Cayden was born at 5:29 pm on February 2nd, 2009... Groundhog Day!  Both Cayden and Kari are doing well.  Kari had the easiest pregnancy I have ever heard of and compared to some past labor stories, had one of the easiest deliveries I have ever heard of as well.

Here are some photos of the little muppet!
